Can i join you this saturday?

Post by mynameisearl247 »

I spoke to people last saturday asking if i could join the social ride this coming saturday. I believe i can on the basis i have the appropriate clothing and equipment etc. Do i need to become a member 1st, need to make a payment or need parental consent (im 17) or anything? If i sent off a membership application form i doubt i would be sorted by saturday. The last thing i want to do is get kitted up on saturday and get into town to find i cant join the ride. Any responses would be greatly appreciated. :)

Yeh you can go on a ride without being a member, just if you keep on coming you are encouraged to/should join.

Earl,

As a 17 year old you're most welcome to come and sample our hospitality but, contrary to Will's advise, you need to be a member as we need to have parental consent to conform to our, and British Cycling's, Youth Policy. You can print a form off the website and bring it with you on the ride but we do need the form signed.

I can confirm that as you are under 18 you do need to be a member and have parental/guardian sign the membership form, under 18 membership is only 5 pounds. Download the membership form from the website fill it out and get it signed, bring it with you to Exibition Square 10am on Saturday and give it to me, I'll be there at 10am.

You will find the membership form on our website www.cliftoncc.org under About Us and then Membership Details and Benefits. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and you will find the link to download the form.

Hope to see you Saturday

Is it the same as last year, despite my details being on the "system" and have not changed, do I still need to fill in the form?

I don't get it? The last time I asked this question was last year before I joined, I was just wondering if it had changed since then.
