Hi, I'll be there (cough, wheeze, sniffle), see you at 6.

G, here's my Garmin log of an actual Pete's Bench Clifton night-time training ride from March this year:

Hi G

It usually depends on how many is in the group, last year it was roughly 19-20mph average when there was about 6 of us, however we do try to stick together and slow if someone is dropping off the back, its like safety in numbers as a group we are really well lit up and can be seen easily by other road users.

Did I get a sniff of someone doing this on a fixed gear?
Tempting, should be a good workout.

In previous years we've started at 6:30. The time is always a problem - for some earlier is better but this excludes people who work and have to get home, eat, get changed etc

I would be able to make a fair few Wednesdays with a 7pm start but recognise that this is later than others would prefer.........

I often go out Wed evening from about 7pm - so would be happy for some company if anyone else can't make the earlier start.

Hmm, I can't make it out today, but it looks good for future weeks.

See you tonight at 6pm.

I was not sure when I posted this exactly what time we met last year, if 6.30pm is more suitable to us we could change to this time for the following week.

Please post a comment on here if you feel this later time would be better.

I've just joined the club and have trouble getting out at the weekends at the moment (new baby). Evening rides would suit me well, but 6.30 (or 7) is definitely more convenient because the nipper will be in bed about that time. Can't make this evening but am very interested in future.

Good fun tonight; could've worn shorts it was so mild. We stayed in one group at all times.

Re start times: I prefer 1800 but as I can make any reasonable start time for these rides I'm more than happy to start at 1830 if that helps other potentially regular attendees...

Here are the ride stats:

Regular would be the ideal but is regretably unrealistic for those whose other commitments aren't negotiable :(

I enjoyed Wednesday evenings ride, despite my lack of decent illumination to the front (always helps to have some adrenaline in the system).
Thanks for posting the stats Howard, the fixed doesn't get a computer as it would just destroy the simplicity of the beast.
I forgot that I'm working away from the middle of next week so can't make it next Weds.
Howard if possible can you post up the 3(?) routes for these rides please. I'd like to get out in the light to reccie the roads so I don't have to rely on Sat-Nav (Shaun) as much next time, thanks Shaun.
