Weekend Roundup

Doesn't sound like anyone has been put off by a bit of atmospheric moisture this weekend - so lets hear all about it.
Sunday clubrun for me. Witnessed an impressive Sunday debut from 14 year old "Alistair12". His previous longest ride had been 50 miles and he set himself up today for 90+ around Langdale End with some very strong riders. To be fair I expected to be taking him the direct route home from the early cafe at Thornton le Dale, but he looked me in the eye and convinced me he was up for the challenge. If he regretted this as the squawly showers lashed us in Troutsdale, then he certainly didn't show it. In fact, never a moments complaint. I think that I could probably have done that route at 14, but not at anywhere near that pace and not in that company - chapeau!
Andy appears back to his old form on the anniversary of breaking his back. Heather, we're all realising, is made of stern stuff. And don't let Nigel have a cooked breakfast in the cafe if you want an easy ride afterwards.
Thanks again for the company on a damp and breezy ride - but it was mild for late Oct and the colours in Dalby were magnificent.
