The 'H' ride this week braved the wind and went over the moors to Osmotherley. Howard, Mark and myself had a gtreat ride, good weather, and went via Yearsley, White Horse Bank, Hawnby, Laskill (fierce little 25%er), Chop Gate, Carlton to the cafe at Osmotherley.

Returned via Hawnby, Helmsley, Nunnington, Hovingham, Sheriff Hutton.

We were riding with a side wind most of the time with one or 2 tough sections with the headwind.

There was a fantastic turn out at the hillclimb on Sunday.

The plan was to go to Thorpe Perrow for the intermediate group, but when we found ourselves being buffeted form all sides in the Melmerby area - we decided that caution should prevail & then tried to find a more sheltered route towards Ripon. This tooks us through the lanes from Wath to Sharow, from where we took the back road towards the boroughbridge-Ripon road and then into Ripon passed the racecourse to Spa Gardens with37 miles done. After lunch we headed back via Knareborough, Wetherby, Wighill, Tadcaster and Appleton Roebuck; with the wind still varying in direction and strength - so we had some fast sections, but also some dodgy side winds when we tried to stay upright.
