Looks like it's a cross between the Richmond 5 Dales and the Tan Hill Challenge!
If it was on the Saturday I'd probably do it but Sunday's aren't good for me so I'll probably just do the usual 'H' ride that weekend.

I shall be out and have listed it as the club run for that weekend
I was thinking it makes an alternative to it the Yorkshire Alps ride

Do you have to be a CTC member or something? It asks for CTC number but does not say anything about being a member but only has one price.

From entry form
CTC rides are covered by Organisers Public Liability Insurance and CTC members are covered by
third party insurance, all riders who are not members of the organisations are advised to join the CTC
or obtain their own insurance.
So Will, you don't have to be a CTC member.

I don't have any insurance bike specific. I cant afford it at the moment, when I get a job which should be soon hopefully I'll join CTC.
I mean is it bad doing the ride with no insurance, I'm not going to crash into any cyclists I'm sure we'll be well split from people behind or in front and I'm not careless.

Hi Will
Joining CTC gives you:
http://www.ctc.org.uk/DesktopDefault.aspx?TabID=4088
http://www.ctc.org.uk/resources/Go_Biki ... stions.pdf
The main points are: £10 million 3rd party cover
Free legal aid.
For you the cost is
£12 per year.
If you had been a member today you would have already saved £2.50 and there will no doubt be other events which will cost less by being a CTC member.

Oh right, I'll join now for 12 quid.
I'm going to post my entry off today for the 220km.
Any training suggestions? I want to try improve my fitness slightly so I can cycle home from the event too and not have to possibly resort to ringing home, it's going to be about 180 miles for me of pain!

I'm unable to do this ride now, would it be wise to notify the organizer as I am taking a space up?

Well it's ok now, I intend on doing it now, I was looking at the worst, some ibuprofen has made it possible for me to ride now.
The weather is a concern, I hope it's not like today
