From Caths weekly update:
The next counting event in the Challenge Series is the Ron Kitching Memorial Rides on 20th June from the Knavesmire.

There are 2 rides to choose from of 100km (1 point) and 150km (2 points).

The event is organised by the CTC and money raised goes to the CTC Charitable Trust. Entry costs £12.50 for CTC/AUK members or £15 for non-members. You are encouraged to pre-enter but entries on the line are accepted – details and entry forms from here
http://www.ctc.org.uk/desktopdefault.aspx?tabid=3690

We were thinking of taking part in the family ride on same day and others may be in same boat of not being able to make 20th June.

So wondered if anyone interested in a "preview" ride of shorter route weekend before - probably the Sunday? Say 9:00 from square??

There are a few lumps but will aim for a v steady pace and regroup at top of climbs. I can't promise WI cakes but will include at least one cafe stop.

If interested please post here.

PS Not intending this to detract from main event but will still give you a point in Challenge Series if you come along!

Hi Mark,

Stacey & I are pretty sure we would be up for it, as I have my daughter down the following weekend.

Have been in touch with Helen

We have agreed that if meet up in Square 9am we will combine with Club Run - at least initial stages

All head out and subject to interest Helen will take group out towards Church Houses

I am going to stick to original plan of c 100k following Ron Kit shorter route with cafe stop. Back early - mid afternoon. All welcome - will not be in rush to get round.

Hi Mark et al, I think this is a very good idea, as I may not be available on the 20th, if there is sufficient interest could we combine the 150k ? As I seem to remember it going out on the 100k route, but then going around Hawnby before Helmsley & then the Cockayne loop, is this still the routing ?

Andy - we will try to make a prompt start at 9 from square

So will be safe bet to be back by 3:30 without killing ourselves

Claire - see you Sunday!

I asked Cath to send something out in the update but please spread the word - the more the merrier.
