Hi All
I am new to cycling and new to the site. I got my road bike in August 2008 and I was thinking of coming along to the social ride starting at the square at 10 this Saturday.
Is it still on?
Thanks
Mark

Welcome
The Saturday social rides are still on, meet at exhibition square 10am Saturday morning and ask for Kevin.
Would be a good idea to bring a spare inner tube, pump, multi-tool and money too.

Thanks.
I thought the social ride would be a good introduction to the club and the other rides you organise.
I will hopefully see some of you on Saturday.
Mark
Can I play too?

I've been toying with the idea of coming out on some rides since moving here last month. Pretty sure I saw a bunch if you last Saturday in Sutton(?) tandem(?) just before the heavens opened.
I've been riding for a couple years, mostly solo, up to 50 miles at about 18mph average speed (so the gps thingy tells me anyhow). Just thought it might be nice to have some people to talk to while out riding and to compare roadkill on downtubes with.
So think I may pop along on Saturday also if that's okay, oh and to make it really easy on everyone I'm called Mark too
Ta ta.

50 miles solo at an 18mph average! - I think you might be leaving me behind!!?? At least people won't get confused between the 2 new Marks - I will be the one at the back!!

If those stats are true make sure you ask to go with guy called Howard from the Square

.Kevins ride will be too slow for you. Then again if there is enough people turn up then tthere will be an intermediate ride. What ever ride you pick enjoy!

Had a quick blast today, and have a ride out to Harrogate and back planned for sunday, so probably stick with the Kevin crew just to get used to riding with others rather than a head down grunt.
Unless it keeps raining that is, i'm a bit soft when it comes to riding in the wet stuff

Just got back!
Had a great time. Many thanks to everyone for a great ride, particularly Kevin who made me feel really welcome. I will definitely be back.
