Okay folks, what's happening...? Regular chaingang at 5:45 meeting just past the Rufforth roundabout? Do we have people planning on having a crack at the TLI's who'd be up for a slightly slower, more technique-based chaingang round the Appleton Roebuck / Acaster airfield circuit too?

I'm up for either / both (maybe we should do them on separate days so people have opportunity to do both?)
As for the time, what we did last year was when people were later they just set off round the loop in the opposite direction and when they met the group they turned round and joined them. Works well with people having different times they can make it for.

Slower one would be the "beginner's chaingang". What happened last year was it sorted out on the night depending on who was there, but the aim is that no-one gets dropped, and that it's about working smoothly as a group rather than speed. Some of the groups got pretty swift last year, but there's more of a focus on learning and giving/taking feedback. The full-on version out through Rufforth rather assumes you know the etiquette and you're up to race speed.

I'm rather keen to get the Acaster Malbis chaingang going again. I'm planning the full series of TLIs and the first one is 21st April, so I could do to start doing some faster stuff.
I think Michael's idea of starting early and people joining us a bit later if they need to a good one.
Also if we've enough people and people of different abilities then we could set a slower group off first with a another group trying to catch them a few minutes later; I think we can sort something out so everyone gets something from it. What I'm trying to say is if you are a beginner or an ok racer or somewhere in between (that's where I'd put myself) come along.
So I will start the bidding at Thursday 6.00PM - anyone up for it?

The regular chaingang starting at Rufforth roundabout - I believe this has traditionally been run on Tuesdays at six. Keep an eye on this forum as it will be confirmed I would think by those that do it. As you can average 22mph on an MTB (with knobblies
) that's the one for you.
The other chaingang which does a circuit around Acaster Malbis area is far more informal and aimed at people who fancy a crack at road racing or have done a bit only now and again. The day and time for this will be arrived at when we reach a consensus of when the most convenient time is for most people who want to do it.
Hope that helps at bit.
P.S don't think you wouldn't be welcome at the Acaster Malbis one, it just might be a bit slower than you would find beneficial for your training.

Well I've succumbed to houseful-of-sneezing-people-syndrome and gone down with a stinker, so I'll not be out on either of 'em tomorrow.
Sounds like there's a Thursday at 6:00 "steady" group for this week at least; if you can sort out a meeting place (Millennium Bridge?) then you're ready to roll. As noted previously, if you're late, just ride clockwise round the airfield and you'll meet at some point...
Anyone who's doing the Rufforth chaingang tomorrow like to confirm a start time? - checking back to last year it started at 6:00 for now and then slipped to 6:15 when the evenings stretched a bit.
And just to confirm, the first of the TLI events is on Tuesday 21st - info at http://www.yorkshiretliseries.net/ - if you've not done so already then you've just time to join TLI and get your series entry in! Let's get a serious Clifton challenge in this year!
