Just a quick note to thank all in the club for two very enjoyable spells (1999-2003, 2007-2008) as a member; as I have now relocated away from the area and my membership is about to expire, it looks as though I will be joining a local outfit for 2009, and wish the club all the very best for the future, not to mention a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Another of the "old faces" going. We did a fair few miles together on those Sunday runs, I'm sure that was earlier than 1999, I'm sure I was having one of my attempts at giving up cycling altogether in 1999 (I could be wrong). I remember one Sunday in winter, I'm sure you were there, we set out into the Dales for a long day out. Pretty much after setting off it started to rain and it just got heavier and heavier and it did that all day. It was cold and dark and miserable and we were soaked. I think we were all thinking, what an earth are we doing here when we rode past one of the reservoirs and there were lots of anglers sat miserably under umbrellas in the rain. I sure it was you that said, "look at those idiots," laughing as you said it.
All the best mate and good luck for the future.
Regards
Steve R

Thanks for the 'good luck' messages, hope everyone had a good Christmas & New Year, though it's not overly pleasant riding weather just now - the chilly commute to/from work is more than enough!
Been down here for a few months now, though, but have been flying the flag for the club in a handful of local events. As my membership has now expired, do I need to give Phil B. a formal resignation in writing, or can I just leave things as they are?

No formal resignation required Dave (it's hard enough getting formal applications for membership out of people, formal resignations are beyond my wildest dreams!). I hope your stay there - however long it may be - is a happy one and wish you all the best out on two wheels.
