Sunday ride
Well having decided to let Rob & Paul push on, Willy & I stuck to our steady ride ethos, following R & P upto just north of Helperby, when we thought shall we go for elevenes in Thirsk via Sessay, but having tried to pedal down the lane after turning right from Helperby, we thought better of it & retraced our wheel tracks back to the main road. Following which we made for Boroughbridge & early 10.30 elevenses at the bakery, after Willys to hot drinks the sun had helped to thaw out the snow and we made for Wetherby. After pensioners lunch at the Bistro cafe we tested out the extended under pass on the way to Thorpe Arch village & Boston Spa, then on to Bramham, Stutton, Ryther, Cawood where we did a bit of exploring along the river bank to look at the Church & an old farm house, before coming back via Naburn Lock & home for 3.00. I think with about 65 miles done - I did say it would be steady !!
