A place to talk about anything! Want to find someone to ride with? Get help on mending things? Organise lifts?

Transport to Manchester this saturday

Post by photoBen »

Thought I'd start something for those travelling to the velodrome this saturday.
I'm planning to take my bike over so am willing to drive and have space for at least two others.
Any problems or suggestions...?

Hi I will already be in the area. I am new to Clifton CC so I look forward to meeting you.
I think we are supposed to be there about 17.30 but I was planning to get there about 17.00. Should be fun :D

How was it guys?

oliread - this was a bit of a first (at least for quite a while I think) to get members to go together in an organised way. That said, I was meant to be the organiser and I missed booking a ticket until they were all sold, so I am going on the 6pm session on the 25th. Welcome to join me if there are any places still free. You will need to book with the velodrome direct.

I wrote a little something on the weekend round up but don't think it's saying too much that the experience was enjoyed by all. First timers John and Rich had no trouble at all, after the initial nerves. As for me, I loved getting back on the track and being on my own bike made it all the better.
Also it's worth noting once you do one taster session, if you go again you don't have to go through the coaching again you just get a full hour on the track.
All weekend sessions are booked until after christmas, so it'll be the new year before any group session can be arranged.

If you need any help organising the next time I'll be more than happy to help Nick.

As PhotoBen says, it was great and no problem despite not being out on my bike much this year. So for regulars it would be even less of a problem.
I would be up for going again at the earliest opportunity so perhaps we could fix a date for say January / February and book so we get a good number of us there.
I do some work in the area so could make a mid week session if that is easier to book and if anyone can make that.
