Just wanting some advice about WHEN to buy a bike, now that i have a fair bit of cash to get myself a new bike. When do you think the best/cheapest time to buy a bike is? Now? a month or two's time when the 2009 stock is arriving? or in the new year? When am i likely to get the best price?

Depends what sort of bike you want James. The common sense suggestion would be that if you want a summer bike then now's a good time. Remember to do lots of research and to *haggle*, its rude not to.
