Hi, I promised I'd send some people the video of Norseman, which is the race Stacey & I did in Norway in August.

Turn the music up really loud and enjoy, it is only about 6 minutes. Stacey & I appear at about 4m 23s, but it is a good watch.

WOW - Was the water cold?

It was warmer than I thought it was going to be. Although that may have been the other 150 entrants peeing as they hit the water that warmed it up! about 17C.

Yerk! Sounds worse than road racers. At least we all do it into the hedge next to the start line!

Triathletes do it in there wetsuits to try and get warm. Amazing how good it makes you feel, although I did have a friend who thought he was farting, but it had lumps in.

In Ironman it is not unusual for competitors to have, how can I saythis , 'messed themselves' during the run. Nice brown legs, YUK!

Cant they just quickly stop and go behind a big rock or something?? I'd hate the feeling of messing myself I'd rather loose a couple of places and go behind a rock or something!

People spend hours training, working on transitions all to save a few seconds. The thought of stopping because of a call of nature for the serious ones is just not an option.

When we did Norseman, stacey finally learnt to pee on the bike. She wanted to stop, but I was having none of it. I was about 10 metres back (so I wasn't drafting) and I have never seen so much water. Although one friend did suggest that there are websites for this sort of thing.

It's the same with caving - once you're soaked and up to your neck in water a bit of urine in your wetsuit is neither here or there - allegedly.
