SPOCO SERIES 2008

Post by cath »

CATEGORY WINNERS

Thanks to the event organisers: Andy Johnson, Rob Osman, Paul Musgrave, Mark Antrobus, Iain Holmes, Nigel Lawson, Andy Smith + Bernard Turgoose and Mick McCormick.

The above will get a ticket for the Club Dinner.

Stats for this years series: 12 events with an average of 26 riders per event.

A lot of new riders doing their first cycle race - hopefully enjoyed by all.

Quite a few riders just missed out on qualification, special mention to Peter Ellwood (age 13) in his first time trials, also Joe Smith who was the youngest rider to take part at age 12.

A mention also for Arthur Marshall who rode 5 events and missed out on qualifying but marhsalled when we were short - despite not having to as a Junior rider.

The next post will list the category winners.

The winners of each category were those with the most points and who met the qualifying criteria - last year it was ride 7/12, this year it was ride 6/12 and be available to help out at 1 (aged 18+). We may look at making it easier for Juvenile (under 16) riders to qualify next year - possibly by reducing the number of qualifying rides to 5.

Cat winners get a dinner ticket (unless you've already got one as an organiser!) plus a selection of trophies/medals. The rule is ONE RIDER = ONE PRIZE (you can only win one category as this spreads the awards out nicely).
