Re Tan Hill, I'll be there and will be keen to "lead" a steady group. I'm guessing we'll be expecting to go round in around 11 hours including 2 sit down stops. Similar intensity to the group I was in for the 3B ride. Hope you can join me again.

Thanks Rob.
Will - no. We shall be heading out to the dales but it's a large area so we
won't be re-tracing previous route. Thinking about either doing a Crackpot ride or out over Jordens and home via Yorks Folly.
Either way plenty of climbing.

Ok sounds good.
Could you give me any tips or anything so I dont have a repeat performance of the last sunday ride, was a nightmare for me.
Is this one going to be as long too? If so I'm thinking of asking my dad if he can pick me up in york

Make sure you have a rest day tomorrow.
Carbo load - pasta meal for dinner.
Good breakfast.
Eat when you get the square.
Eat whilst riding - something small every half an hour.
Pasta or beans at lunch /high glucose desert
Be nice to your legs on the way out.
If you feel you are working hard when we are riding to the hills ask for the person on the front to knock it of half a mile.
Try and ride steady avoid putting in digs/sprint efforts as they wear you down.
Lastly you are doing quite a few extra miles so it would be really helpfull if you could get a lift out,Better than a lift back.

How many miles may it be? I'll ask my dad but its unlikely he will give me a lift in at that time of morning, is it 9am start as usual?
Is a pasta meal for breakfast ok? or some rice? Surely that would be better than a bowl of cornflakes?
So instead of eating one of my snack bars in one go, just eat half of one?

William,
Helen's advice is a extremely sensible, however that's not how it was done when I was your age. Comments added below.

Make sure you have a rest day tomorrow.
YOU SHOULD GO OUT ON THE BIKE FOR AT LEAST 4 HOURS ON A SATURDAY THEN OUT FOR A LEAST 8 PINTS AT NIGHT HOME BEFORE 2am.
Carbo load - pasta meal for dinner.
KEBAB AFTER THE BEERS.
Good breakfast.
A FRY UP WILL BE IDEAL.
Eat when you get the square.
PORK SCRATCHINGS or a PORK PIE
Eat whilst riding - something small every half an hour.
ALL WAYNE RANDLE USED TO HAVE WAS A PACKET OF CRISPS (true).
Pasta or beans at lunch /high glucose desert
ANOTHER FRY UP SURELY, FOLLOWED BY SPONGE & CUSTARD
Be nice to your legs on the way out.
STAY ON THE FRONT ALL THE TIME & TRY TO HALF WHEEL THE RIDER NEXT TO YOU.
If you feel you are working hard when we are riding to the hills ask for the person on the front to knock it of half a mile.
SPRINT UP THE HILLS MAKE SURE YOU WIN K.O.M
Try and ride steady avoid putting in digs/sprint efforts as they wear you down.
SPRINT FOR EVERY VILLAGE SIGN IT WILL BE GOOD TO GET THE GREEN & POLKA DOT JERSEYS. IF YOU FEEL OTHER RIDERS ARE SUFFERING UP THE PACE OR PUT IN AN ATTACK.
Lastly you are doing quite a few extra miles so it would be really helpfull if you could get a lift out,Better than a lift back.
ONLY SOFTIES GET A LIFT, IT IS CHARACTER BUILDING TO GROVEL THE LAST 20 MILES HOME SUFFERING FROM THE BONK.
Helen
Go for it, you know it make sense.

Hi there,
I'd like to do tomorrow's ride, but is that Jordans as in Jordan Moss? Would I be right in thinking that this will be ever so slightly less challenging than the ride Fleet Moss ride two weeks ago?
I'm guessing it's an 8:30 start.

It's a 9am start as normal and we plan to be home for 5, 6 at the latest, so it'll be Jordans Moss, York's Folly then maybe Fewston if going well.

Well that run was quite good, had to do a couple of runs around my village though to get the mileage to 121miles as 117 was not enough.
On the way back inbetween ryther and Cawood I seen a british cycling lorry, was a fast ride back with the tail wind and I got lost in tadcaster but soon realised I cant go wrong if I keep going into the direction of the booze factory. My legs are aching abit but I'm sure those beens and cheese on a jacket patato helped but I certainly need to try get better at high mileage I'm not happy with my performance yet, I'm more annoyed at myself at the fact I'm not performing anywhere near as well as I was on the Ron Kit , short distance I'm much better but long distance I'm going downhill

"...but long distance I'm going downhill"
Maybe doing too many miles and not recovering properly?

Huh? How much recovery is enough? After every saturday or Sunday ride I recover the next day, sometimes I even have 2 days off.
Am I doing it wrong?
