Dear All,

Would you like to sponsor me on a charity bike ride I’m doing on Sunday 3rd July 2008? http://www.justgiving.com/nathanevington

The Cardiomyopathy association raises awareness this type of heart disease, which can affect the very young. Click here to find out more. http://www.cardiomyopathy.org/

Why this charity? Well, a good friend of mine, Nathan, died aged 30 in November of last year and many years ago, in 1995, my older brother, Wayne, died of Cardiomyopathy at the age of 37. My friend’s brother Damian wanted to do something to raise funds in honour of his brother and because my brother died of this too, it was something I really wanted to do. So five of us, with friends and family for support, will be undertaking this challenge together.

What are we doing? We are doing the Embrun to Alpe d’Huez stage of the Tour de France. 130 miles, 5 mountains and finishing up the legendary climb. The route is below:

The actual stage will be done by the professionals on Wednesday 23rd July and will be on TV on ITV3 or Eurosport so you can see what a monumental challenge it will be for us.

The Col du Galibier at 2645 metres is the first mountain, Col de la Croix de Fer the second main mountain and finishes up L’Alpe d’Huez which is 1680 metres, with other lumps in between. I hope to do it in about 12 hours.

If you could possibly sponsor me, I would be immensely grateful. You can sponsor using the link here (same as the first link at the top of the page) http://www.justgiving.com/nathanevington or see me with cash.

Many thanks for you help and support.

Kind regards

Colin

Have done the necessaries Colin. What a fabulous route! Enjoy the 12% at the top of the Galibier! And we want to see a You Tube clip of you on the Alp.
