Sunday club run plans for the next few weeks.

29th July
Reminder that this weeks club run will LEAVE the square at 0845
to get to Easingwold to start the Mother Shipton Audax at 10am.
Dave C will be leading.

6th July
I need a volunteer to lead the ride.I can supply route/cafe stop if needed

13th July - 3 Bridges Audax. (2 points for the club challenge rides standards)
Not sure how many club members plan to do this. There could be a large number of varying standard and it may be best to split in to a couple of groups.Has any of the Saturday riders voluntered to lead a group round?

29thJuly Ryedale Rumble Sportive
Free place if you marshal for either the mens or womens road races this weekend.See Cath's note

Long rides to plan in for August so far include-
Ravenscar - Bernard
Fleetmoss,Buttertubs,Tanhill- me
version of the Yorkshire Alps -Nick
Any other requests ?

What is the Ryedale Rumble Sportive? How much does it cost? Would I be able to do it?

Hmmm, sounds good but its racing pace no? Would it be a bad idea to ride up to the start of the event or might some people be planning on riding up that day?

I'm aiming to do the 3 Bridges - I imagine I'd be suitable for a 'medium paced' group?

Will: Regarding the Ryedale Rumble, unless you've improved a lot by then I'd imagine that riding out, doing the route (I assume you would do the longer option) and riding back would be a bit much. Hopefully someone would be able to provide transport for you.

Sorry for the mistakes with the dates will not get distracted this time.

1 - 0845 start this weekend for the Audax

2 - Ryedale rumble is on Sunday 27th July
This is an expensive event to enter but if you are helping this weekend
you get a discount.

If you don't have to start at 7am I will ride out.Have done the Hilly Imperial, which is very similar ride, so I am confident I can do the distance Doing it as a club run would mean not riding for individual times so riding out from York and back is feasible and adds a challenge to the event.

Depending on numbers I am happy to put a club run on instead.
If you would like to lead a ride that day let me know and I will list it.

3- no ride was listed for the 20th July as I haven't planned where to go yet. Depends on what happens on the 6th and whether the Ryedale Rumble remains as the club run for the 27th of July.If anyone would like to lead a ride instead that week let me know where you want to go and I will list it.

4- Etape de Wolds has been mentioned as a possible.
This takes place on Saturday 2nd August and starts in Beverly.

We could make it that weeks club run - any thoughts ?

Will wait for feedback on dates and destinations and then get a runs list up
on the calandar next week.

I'll do anything that goes off as a club run from the square.

Will

Would you like to put a route together for one of the Sundays ?
Work on 90- 110 miles from the square and don't worry to much about detail at this point just destination/major climbs
Email me for a discussion.

I'm doing The Three Bridges (flat roads suit me) and hope to do the Tan Hill Audax.

Wouldn't mind doing the ride to Ravenscar - never been there on the bike. I shall try to be available for the Yorkshire Alps too.

Rob did a ride to Spurn point last year, I couldn't make that, any thought of doing it again this year? Probably two cafe stops but to counter allegations of going soft  I recommend we do it late autumn or winter - it'd be a proper hard riders ride.

Will, an Audax isn't a competitive ride, admittedly some people try to get round first, but that's not the idea. Think of it as a more organised club run.

Steve

Could do Spurn Point at the end of September.
I take your point about making it a winter ride but it's nice to have the time and daylight to get right to the end.
Would you lead the ride?
