..so for those of us using rusty old HRMs, that 220W of 250W is vaguely around the 80-85% MaxHR, ish?

Yup. I can't remember exactly how Friel's zones work, but for me HR wise it'd be about 160-165 (max 193 or so, threshold about 170-175 depending on fitness)

I regularly ride out to meet the training ride from Stamford Bridge, if I leave Stamford at 10.10 we normally meet a the 'T' junction east of Stockton on Forest at 10.30 - 10.40 so Buttercrambe might be near 10.45 or even 11.00. Like Phil says they never leave the square at 10.00
