Possibly I could do this. Anyone else going? I haven't done any chaingangs this year (and no Clifton ones for years) so it would do me some good. Where do you meet and when?

Last time out we met on the Millennium Bridge at 6:30, then rode down through Bishopthorpe until we hit the loop of roads which goes through Appleton Roebuck, left towards Appleton Selby, left across the old airfield, etc. Anyone who missed the 6:30 rendezvous can turn up whenever, ride the circuit in the opposite direction (clockwise) until they meet us and then turn round sharpish. We stopped every couple of laps at a convenient layby near where the road from Bishopthorpe joins the loop, to talk through how it was going and answer queries as they came up. Emphasis was on keeping it smooth and keeping everyone pulling through - 20-21mph was about the limit.

I'm definitely on family duty tomorrow - you happy to front it up? Arthur and Muzzy were out last time, may be again this week?

I can't make it this week(member of the parent club)but intend to turn
up for the real thing next week.Would be good to have the company of other 'newbies' as I can more easily ride round the route by myself in the day time
other than that I will try to hang in with the group as long as possible.
Plan to go and ride the route Thursday morning if anyone else is free then.

If you are riding the route thursday morning will you be doing normal pace of 20+mph speeds?

"...very interested in trying the chaingang on tuesday 22nd if thats ok"

The "intro" chaingang is unlikely to happen on 22nd as that'll clash with the next round of the TLI evening series up at Boroughbridge, although there may be one of the regular "full speed" chaingangs out towards Rufforth. If there are a few people who fancy going out on 29th for an "intro" session, then I should be okay to help out with that (but away until the day before, so will be absent from here). The final TLI event is on 5th August and assuming we don't screw it up bigtime we should get the team shield, so should be a fun night to turn up, have a go, and be part of it!

Just me and John out tonight (so more of a chainlink than a chaingang) but good ride. Both of us new to it but did 21mph+ without busting a gut although I realised I had the cornering finesse of a rather large oil tanker.

Just read Phil's post... any other newbies fancy the 29th as a try out and diving in and doing the last race on the 5th?
