Hi all
My weekend was racing at Wistow with Paul and Phil.A bit apprehensive after a baptism of fire last week.Got off to a steady start not letting any wheels go out of corners and trying to conserve as much energy as i could After about six out of nine laps i tried to hang at the front as a few were getting twitchy and after a couple of efforts at trying to bridge across to the break i got dragged back into the bunch, wasted energy,it probably cost me in the end as i was in a perfect position going into the final straight but started out to early and blew about half way down the sprint.Pretty happy with the way i rode but cant help feeling missed opportunity! All learning.

I went out to watch the road race on sunday, I was hoping for a windy day so I could see everyone grovelling in the gutter, but it was very calm. Tim looked comfortable, but he wasn't fooling me with the straight face. Paul looked fed up, and Phil was a study in concentration, well done everyone. Some good pictures on the Seacroft Wheelers website.
Toby you reminded me of the time I turned up to a junior race in the 80's without my shoes, in those days we had toe clips and straps and I rode in my Dads shoes, I can't remember why, they must have had a stiffer sole than my trainers, my feet were killing me and I packed.... happy days.
