Cant duplicate it, Facebook is not advanced enough and does not have a forum.

"Cant duplicate it, Facebook is not advanced enough and does not have a forum."

EXACTLY! The mistake a lot of people make with IT 'stuff' is they try and use the wrong tool for the job.

The Clifton website is excellent (and we should all applaud those who look after it), and together with the bulletin board do everything we want it to do. Facebook is a social networking site and I'm sure it does that well too.

Having said that though, could there be opportunity to link FROM facebook to our site? Maybe something for regular facebook users to look into, I don't even know if they allow external links?

(Personally I don't want to go on my facebook account again, Last time I went on I had dodgy people wanting to be my friends, I got 'poked' and invited into a game of Scrabble).

I think Facebook is going OTT with this poking business, I'm sure one of the social networking sites even gave you the option to stab you're friends :p

I say go for it

It's not something i have been involved with (so far) but i am more than happy to support and take lead from our younger members

It may bring positive results but if not don't worry about it

You had a go and that's the main thing

I am probably going to show my complete ignorance but was struck by use of photos in current Cliftonite and wondered if this may be up Photo Bens street?

And the more ad hoc nature plus trendy side to it may tie in with some of Willys planned activities

Suggestion: we ask Alice / Will and anyone else interested to catch up together and crack on. Better still arrange to meet up for a bike ride and chat about it when riding along :)

Thought that was the whole point of this stuff - you don't actually have to talk to anyone face to face - you can do it remotely. You say you use fb to talk to the students next door!!!!
