Seven of us out on this tonight. Really good ride and got lots of tips. What I picked up is: keep the formation, stay close, keep consistent pace and don't worry about your speedo - most important thing is to not let gaps form.

Particular thanks to Steve and Helen for showing us the ropes.

I can do monday or tuesday next week if anyone else can (?)

Michael

Sorry for my abrupt departure had a call from my youngest.

I intend to ride the 'proper'chain gang tuesday night.
If your happy with the group riding rules and can get over its worth doing.
I know I'm a lot slower than the normal guys but hope to hang in there on the way out and if possible re-group with others who have lost contact and ride to the finnish.

Can't make Monday but Nick can turn up with Alice Tuesday or Wednesday night.

I dont know if I am ready for the propor chaingang yet, I was nearly getting dropped last night (sort of), no in the way it was too fast, just as the guys on the right went past and I had to get on the back I was loosing them as I had to accelerate or something. Dont think I am ready in terms of keeping close to everyone yet.

What I want to do is if there are some stronger ones on the beginner next week is possible on the last lap or two actually do propor chaingang speeds as I want to know if I can keep up but dont feel ready for the propor changang yet.

I really enjoyed yesterday's session and I think it was useful for us all to ride together, through and off. I think however we were all riding within our comfort zone. The point of a chaingang is to ride outside the comfort zone, it should be hard, so I think if we do a session again we should try to ride a mile or two faster. Don't let that put you off though, we'll see how it goes.

I can't make Tuesday and I might be in the boozer on Wednesday but can people suggest which day is best for them and we'll go with the majority.

I'll second what Michael said. It was certainly a new experience for me. It looks like work is going to stop me doing it again next week though.
Hopefully should be able to do first saturday run in the morning though.
