So what will you be doing on 21st December?

A place to talk about anything! Want to find someone to ride with? Get help on mending things? Organise lifts?

So what will you be doing on 21st December?

A couple of people have asked me, so let's do it again:

Winter Solstice Tan Hill Ride

Same format as last few years:
0700 start (tbc)
2 cafe strategy
145 miles Square to Square and more climbing than you can shake a stick at.
An hour's darkness at the start.
3h of dark at the end.
Back in York 1900-2000
Go/no go decision to be made on Thursday 18th (with regard to weather forecast; but will go for it unless its apocalyptic or dangerous)

Post if keen.

I'm in, gives me a reason to train and an excuse to eat lots in the following week!

What I will be doing on December 21st

What a quandary: Tan Hill in midwinter or birthday celebrations? Think, pause, think again, deliberate, deliberate. Oh dammit food and booze wins again. Have a good day, I intend to!

I'm in too. I'm doing a 100+ mile ride in a couple of weeks, and providing that goes OK I'll be a definite.

Is the route similar to any of the rides held in the summer?

I forgot about darkness, I guess I'd need some real bright lights no? I bought some 35 quid ones but they are only good for city riding at night I think. Can see them flashing on signs in the city even with all the lights about 200-300meters away though.
