Wednesday Evening Ride (15/10)

Nine riders, including some first-timers, took advantage of the good weather to get in a bit of training (Ian, Howard, Tim, Shaun, Steve, Rob, Ginny, Jason). Not sure of distance or speed as didn't zero the clock before starting, but a good hour at a manageable pace, what did the Garmin say Howard?
Howard has promised us a tour North of York next week, watch this space...

I really enjoyed tonight's ride. Great to see some new faces and to be riding on dry tarmac in calmish conditions. My Garmin reported an av. speed of just over 18mph. That's 'door to door' though so we were undoubtedly going a little quicker than this on the route proper. Distance covered was 22 miles and involved, for me at least, the apparent expenditure of 1442 kcals. And we had a cumulative height gain of 182 metres. Gosh, I'll stop now as I fear I'm beginning to sound like Willhub!
No special route idea for next week Anthony; I simply suggest that we undertake our third "standard" Wed. night route - the one that takes us almost to Bulmer. So I suggest we meet at 18:30 on Haxby Rd outside Nestle by the big clock. That's the big clock furthest away from the city centre because, wouldn't you just know it, there are two big clocks in the vicinity!
