Thnking about some aero bars

Post by willhub »

Hi.

I'm thinking of maybe getting some Aero bars like these:

http://www.wiggle.co.uk/ProductDetail.a ... ero%20Bars

But I dont want to waste money and want to know if they are worthwhile for TT's and if the ones I have linked to are ok?

Thanks

Hi Will, try www.ribblecycles.co.uk as they are a tenner cheaper on there....I have the same ones and they are comfortable and v. easy to attach - but make sure you get the right fit for your handlebars. Paul can't use mine with his bike as the handlebars are a different diameter but he likes them as well.

How do I know if they fit my handlebars or not?

Had a quick look - says its multi-fit so will be okay (mine are older version and came in 2 sizes).

Will, I've got the same ones and they're fine. If you want to try before you buy I'm away next week and you can borrow them for the week if you want? (I'm marshalling this thursday and could give them to you then - although don't time trial on them until you've got used to them!)

Will, I've got them on my bike at college today. If you're in college today drop me an email mcarter@yorkcollege.ac.uk and let me know where and when I can meet you and I'll get them to you.

I might not see you tonight as I'll be marshalling.

Its freezing here , river must be messing with the land I'm at the other side. I'm ok when I have been cycling for ages in the wet its just getting started. What am I going to do in the super wet uk winters????

Only like heavy rain Will - not real heavy rain, you'll be OK.

"What am I going to do in the super wet uk winters????"

Get wet!

You worry and think way too much! If you've a wind in your face you go slower. If it rains, you get wet. If you're in a race and the pace is too fast you get dropped. Practice will make you improve, worrying won't!

If you don't feel confident and safe racing in the wet do some practice to get used to it and build your confidence. Come along and help out tonight if you fancy a ride but don't want to race.

Well the reason I did not come in the end was not due to the rain it was other reasons, shame really the wind seemed to have slowed down might have been a good go :(

You missed a good night, yep we all got drenched but good fun!

Anyway, back to the bars. It's my last day at work today for a week, if you want the bars for a week let me know.
