Woke up to heavy rainfall this morning, it crossed our minds if anyone would still want to ride the Club Hill Climb today……….

I’d say ‘Quality not Quantity’ was the order of the day! A fantastic ‘well done’ to the 6 riders who braved the competition and weather to come out to the start. Once there, as often the case, the rain softened, although the racing conditions were made more tough by the surface water, debris and slippery roads. However, all the riders handled that safely, having to sit down on the steeper sections, when the wheel spin prevented the usual standing dig to the finish.

That all makes the winning time of 6m30s, by Joe Shillabeer, even more impressive – well done Joe.

All riders deserve a pat on the back, but I’ll also shout out 12 year old Isaac’s ride. Isaac has just turned 12 and so now able to race in CTT Road Events. He wasn’t phased by the conditions and sounded keen to be back for more at the soggy finish-line, with a big smile on his face.

Thankyou to all for an enjoyable morning :D
And of course to Siobhan and Robert for Event help & Start & Finish timekeeping, respectively.
