"The stage of a multi-day road race which is deemed the hardest, most demanding and most prestigious stage of the race" - Wiki
Steen asked me to point out you don't have to be a royalist to ride....
We've not organised a full Challenge Series this year, but we have a few ideas for big rides. This should be a cracker:
7am start
Greenhow, Fleets Moss, Buttertubs, Askrigg Common, The Fleak, Fleetham Hill, Grinton Moor then a steady flat ride home.
About 270km and more climbing than you can shake a pump at.
2 café strategy
Home at....... eventually
Put the date in your diary.

Just the rider, his ride and the road ..

Re: Clifton Queen Stage, Sunday 16th June
Lots of interest in the ride and I'm expecting a good size group, with a range of talents!
Come and join us. It will be a ride to tell your grandchildren about!
I'll meet you in The Square at 7am, rain or shine.

Right, just bumping this back to the top one last time.
The Met Office are forecasting near perfect conditions for a long ride - light winds, dry, high teens (°C).
Looks like being a nice size group to share the work.
Ride together on the flat and the easier hills. Regroup at the top of the big ones.
Café stops probably in Kettlewell and Leyburn, depending on progress.
But its long way between cafe's so bring some carbs (proper food is better than gels for this sort of thing) and two bottles.
Strap on a rear LED, just in case....
