Re-surfacing Work

Post by craigdabrown »

Along with the first signs of summer, the dreaded re-dressing of road surfaces appears to have begun.

The stretch past The Sidings restaurant, between the A19 and Shipton Low Road was done over the weekend and East Lane, out of Shipton to Wigginton, was quite bad last night as cars were ignoring the 20mph speed limit and the chippings were pretty deep at the edge of the road and on the bends.

Just a heads-up to anyone who rides out of York through Askham Bryan, there are signs stating that surface dressing works will be done on Askham Fields Lane south from the junction with Main Street to the A1237 roundabout and along the road towards Askham Richard (which appears to be unnamed or York Road depending on which map you use) as far as the end of Chapel Lane.
The work is scheduled for 07/06/2016, but is weather dependant.
Looks like I will be using Chapel Lane for a while. :-)
