Clifton Chaingang - Not Just For Racers!

Post by JohnS »

Following on from the thread on the Racing and Training board thought it was worthwhile posting a reminder here that the Clifton Chaingang has kicked off again on Tuesday evening.

Meet 6.15pm at the Rufforth roundabout. Brisk ride out through Tockwith to Spofforth bridge then pick up the pace for some pace line work on the way back to York and a nice simple out and back route.

Great training (could even say essential) if you're thinking about racing). Equally useful for getting a bit of speed in your legs to improve those Sportive times or just to ride a bit faster (and who doesn't want to ride a bit faster!).

Hopefully see some of the regulars back out as well as some new faces on Tuesday.

Great turnout for tonight's Chaingang. I think 11 in all including some new faces. Thanks guys. Hopefully same again next week.

If you fancy trying it please do come along. It would be great to get these sort of numbers out every week.

If anyone has any questions please feel free to post below or drop me a pm.

Cheers

Hi John,

I'm interesting in joining this, as it sounds like good training. I'm not familiar with Rufforth at all, so just wondering whether the roundabout is within Rufforth itself?

Hi I am also interested in coming along. I'm also a little unsure of the exact meeting point, plus can you let me know the general distance and time taken for this ride.

Cheers Chris

Hi Gents

Roundabout where the B1224 Acomb to Rufforth road crosses the A1237 York by-pass.

Distance is c. 30 miles and roughly 1 hour 30 min.

Hope that helps. I not out for the next couple of weeks unfortunately as I am away but I'm hope you can make it. Would be great to get last weeks numbers out on a regular basis.

Cheers
