The forecast is looking rather grim: mild but wet and windy from the S/SW, so this may affect the turnout, myself included

It's only been a couple of weeks since the Otley run, and there doesn't seem to be many other options to harness a tailwind for the ride home, so I'm thinking that a NW route would be preferred over heading N/NE/E.

Leyburn might be a stretch with sunset at 16:20 in York, so I propose a ride out to Masham (more cafe options than Bedale), but other suggestions are welcome.

Fenders/mudguards and lights strongly recommended

I've received a few pings this morning, so just confirming that I will be playing out today, and we have quorum from a few regulars.

This morning's BBC forecast shows the rain is moving NE and should ease by late morning.

By shear fluke, our route heads away from the storm, and better yet, while it could be a blustery day, the winds are looking favourable: starting SSE and shifting WSW and W this afternoon = tailwinds for much of the ride
