Whitsun BH round-up

Post by Dr Dave »

5 Inters on Saturday - Dave C, Ian H, John B, Graham and self. Was going to try the climb to the east of White Horse Bank but the wet road was extremely greasy and with little propect of riding the hill and every chance of fallers we decided to leave this for a dry day and took WHB instead. Graham had had a hard week at work and so turned back here. The rest of us headed for Helmsley via Rievaulx.
After a leisurely lunch we tracked over to Hutton-le-Hole before returning to town via Amotherby. Ian's back was troubling him but we stuck together and he kept going well - chapeaux!
Keep pedalling!

A big group of MTBers headed to the Peaks for the weekend for some camping organised by Lisa.

The weather was, err, changeable with some heavy rain at times. However, there was plenty of dry weather too so we just had to pick our riding times carefully. 3 great day's riding around the Dark Peak taking in Jacob's Ladder, Rushop Edge, Mam Tor, Ladybower, 'The Beast' etc. It really is a great area for riding off road with some stonking climbs and descents to test your bikes suspension to the limit.

The BBQ Saturday was timed to perfection with the rain arriving just in time to put out the flames at the end of cooking.

Thanks Lisa. More trips planned for later in the year too.
