New Member – Cycle Routes Please

Post by Mark 62 »

Hi, everyone
As you probably know from my introduction I am only a novice to cycling at the moment, but I would like some advice please on some good cycle routs I could do around 50 - 60 miles to start with, or better still if someone would like to ride with me to show me the route that would be great: :D and ill buy the Coffee, full roast dinner, treacle sponge and custard, and a box of chocolates for afters, and if your still hungry a big mac on the way back in to york.

I would like to do the Saturday social rides too, but I have to work every other sat, until 1.00pm, so I won’t be getting out much especially if one gets canceld. Can I also go to the cycle track at the uni on Tues /Thurs evenings as I’ve heard its only £4.00 pay as you go, or is that just for hard core training sessions.

Any help and advice will be greatly appreciated.

Regards Mark

Try this one - flat enough and will give a flavour of local roads:

PS You have the time zone wrong in your profile

Hi Mark... Call into the shop (York Cycleworks) I'll give you so many routes that you'll not see your family for weeks...Buy some local OS maps and I'll mark them up for you. I won't take up the offer of showing you around,as it will cost you a fortune feeding a fat sod like me!
