Clifton CC Road Race Sunday 30 June

Post by Cam B »

This event is now "live" and available to enter via the BC website www.britishcycling.org.uk/events for any of our 2nd, 3rd or "aspiring" 4th cats. Like last year it will be on the Milby circuit near Borougbridge. Entries are pouring in already (well...two so far!)
If you don't want to race but would like to help out on the day there will be plenty of jobs so please pencil the date in your diary and I will post something nearer the time about volunteers, etc. Clifton will be holding a vets race on the same circuit in the morning so should be a cracking day :D

Vets race is likewise up on the (slightly lower tech) LVRC calendar (printed in large print, rather than all this online entry malarkey) and similarly entries are pouring in - three in fact! Go old blokes! (and ladies).

As last year if you fancy riding the BC event and helping at the vets race or vice-versa, you'll have a good race and earn brownie points too. Sunshine guaranteed, and there will be cake.

Put me down to help out with the Vets race, I suppose it's a bit like "care in the community"

Very good - I'll get an entry sent in for the VETs, I like that circuit. I assume I don't need to join LVRC and can race on a BC licence?

I'll be available for marshalling t'other race too.

.....please let's have a dry day and bit of sunshine too, if it's not too much to ask.

Steve...You will have join LVRC to enter Vet's race. If you look on LVRC webste it will tell you how to join. I think it's only £20 and races are normally only a tenner...so a complete bargain :D

...and an interesting mix of fairly local vets races through June which a few of us will be riding so you can have some company while you work up to your 30th June "peak"!

A bit like that - ask Cath or Lisa about the underpants incident - but they're still pretty b****y quick!

Ok will join LVRC and send in an entry, it’s still cheaper than most Cyclosportives. Uniquely, in my life, I find myself in a position of knowing the people in the know and intend to abuse that to the maximum and ask if you can reserve me a place until my entry arrives – there is a promise of cake after all.
