0730 prompt departure
143 miles Square to Square
2 Cafe strategy.
Expect 30mins riding in the dark at the start, and the thick end of 3 hours at the end. And I'll be on gears.
This is a ride so esoteric that it doesn't even get you Challenge Ride points (though maybe it should feature on all Clifton riders' palmares at some stage). One to tell your grandkids about (....I pity mine.... )

Not really being able to count myself as a 'proper' Cliftonite having never done this and with weather forecasting dry and a balmy 6 degrees (too easy for you types I know), it's tempting. I'm not committing to anything though at this stage because you'd have to be prepared to be accompanied by a plodder especially after I realise there's no wonder I get dropped all the time looking at the number of hours they ride on average a week on the 'other forum.'
For goodness sake Broomy, is anything going to change between now and Sunday? Just commit to the ride, or to something else. Life's too short for all this vacillation! Or are you just fishing for compliments about your ability to keep up? Just how many hours a week do you think we do?
P.S & I haven't mentioned it to the missis yet: "I'm b****ering off all day on Sunday on my bike, you're alright looking after the kids all day, aren't you darling," might not go down that well (especially as I'm in the bad books already for staying out boozing most of Thursday night). So I'm waiting for an opportune moment to mention it.
For those like me not sure on that word - I googled it for you.
vac·il·late (vs-lt)
intr.v. vac·il·lat·ed, vac·il·lat·ing, vac·il·lates
1. To sway from one side to the other; oscillate.
2. To swing indecisively from one course of action or opinion to another. See Synonyms at hesitate.
See you Sunday Rob
Paul (7 hours a week every week but no evenings out boozing these days I have to do that at home)
Nope - blast, I've got other stuff I've got to do tomorrow. Probably as well though, I think I would have needed a couple of 80+ mile rides in my legs before taking on what would have been not far short of 160 by the time I'd got home. Looks like the weather's going to be fine for you so it should be an epic ride.
