Pub!

Post by PhilBixby »

I've had a few conversations with people about a pub night at the season's end for those who've raced this year to reflect a bit and share their experiences and for those who plan on racing next year to share ideas on training, work out what everyone wants from the Saturday rides etc. It would also be an opportunity to talk about race stuff that the club will be involved with next year and do some early thinking about how that'll all happen.

In order to get a date in everyone's diary I thought I'd start the ball rolling early - how would Monday 17th Sept work for everyone? I'm suggesting Brigantes; I'll check if the upstairs room is available and if we get ten "I'll be there"s on this thread I'll book it.

I would love to join you, but I'm working! Might be a chance to discuss options for a team approach though? Rock Racing have had some good results on the back of working together this season- we certainly have the people and the talent to profit from this approach :D

Maffers (Malton Wheelers) and Fraz (York Cycleworks) should be able to join us to talk about the North Yorkshire Evening RR League...how it went this year and planning for next season, etc.

Yep. I should be there. Just one request, can we make the NYERR league the first thing to talk about. Im sure you wouldn't want us Malton Wheelers to know all about your secret plans for the Clifton team!

I'll tell the bar staff to keep the special vitamins behind the counter until you and Fraz have made your excuses. Can't book the upstairs room as it's already booked for a poetry-reading group or some other sedentary and pointless pastime, so I'll aim to get there a bit earlier and will drape coats over chairs, leer at women and generally try to put a sizeable exclusion zone around myself in time for eight o'clock.
