Spare Parts

Post by Rob »

There was a "ping" from my back wheeel on Saturday and the freewheel stopped working - ie it freewheels both ways.... On detailed inspection that fiddly little circular spring that operates the pawls inside the freehub has broken. Anybody know where I can get another? Have searched the internet to no avail, and the last time I asked in a bike shop about this sort of thing they looked at me like I was from another planet. I can get a whole new freewheel mechanism from Ribble (which of course may or may not arrive), but £30 seems a lot to pay when all I need is a tiny little spring. It's a standard Centaur hub by the way?

All suggestions greatfully received.

JD Whiskers in Potters Bar 01707 875448 (only open Tues & Thurs) or Mercian www.merciancycles.co.uk/campagnolo.asp will do them.

Thanks Paul, have just ordered one from Mercian - they were very helpful.

What a club eh, this forum has just saved me 2 years membership in one post!

As an aside - is it just me or is it always quite startling just how small and delicate that spring is that keeps the whole transmission engaged!?
