I would be up for entering a couple of these races. Would anybody be up for car sharing? I'm more than happy to fund petrol.

The dates I'm thinking of entering are 1st and 15th September

I aim to do the whole series and could have room for 2 people if the need is there

The results have mixed us up Simon. They have put you at 9th rather than me.

I've contacted the organiser but not sure if they'll change it. You might end up with a free BC point!

Yes Martin, just seen it, i have told them that you are 100% right and i want the results changing and the point taking off my BC account and crediting to its right full owner, well done m8. On no account do i want crediting with points from another rider, never mind a fellow club member, I will help you in any way i can to get the right results listed. See you Saturday

Thanks Simon - I'm sure they'll sort it put.

Cheers, Darren. I am making progress very slowly!

Darren, any advice on winter training, i know a lot of guys take time off and reduce their riding, but i know im nowhere near fit enough for the races i want to do. Should i up the training, and carry on as usual, any thoughts from those with considerably more experience than me welcome.

Cheers Simon

Hi Simon

I don't really like to give advice on the forum, I tend to get shot down for my "old school" ways :D To be honest you probably know more than I do.
I think I just won races in the past because I was skinny and I enjoyed riding my bike, so I did it alot and in all weathers.

I'll be out on K rides and clubruns between now and end of year so if you want to get out I'd be happy to chat about what I did/do, but I'm sure you'll think I've got glass cranks on and I don't ride hard enough.
You could start a training thread and guys who've read lots more on the subject will be able to help.

Thanks Darren, i will do that, today saw round 2 of the Fulford Cycles race series at Dishforth, finished 9th and bagged my first points ever, really pleased after doing more than my fair share on the front. Also well done to Martin, any other Clifton riders fancy a bash at this its a great introduction to racing

I was going to give it a miss this week and go on the training ride.

I'd be no help anyway as can't fit another bike in my car.

You could get the train to Thirsk and it looks like an 8 mile ride from there. I'm considering that option next time as it'd be a good warm up. There isn't really anywhere to warm up at the Airfield.

Seat and spare bike rack on the roof if anyone wants a lift to Dishforth on Sunday
