I have been very lucky this last week. Because I've been working in London for the Games I managed to get tickets for the Mall on Sunday to watch the Womens' Road Race and went to Kingston to watch the Womens' and Mens' Time Trials today.
The atmosphere for both days was unbelievable- i'm surprised the GB riders aren't deaf given the wall of noise that surrounded them. The noise on The Mall was incredible on Sunday for Lizzie Armitstead's Silver medal ride, but the noise today was ten times louder! You could tell when the GB riders were approaching by the wave of screams and shouts which preceded them.
Fantastic results for Team GB and surely a knighthood for Sir Bradley by the end of the year?
Oh and Sports Personality of the Year for cyclists two years running (Wiggo's got to win this year)? What's happening? At this rate cycling might get popular

So thats a gold, a silver and a bronze just from the 2 road disciplines - must have been an amazing experience for Wiggins time trialling to a gold medal in the middle of London in the Olympics through those crowds. And we still have the track, BMX and MTB to come! And Wiggins is now the most medal awarded Brit of all time - 7 medals of which four are Gold. Considering he only rides a couple of events per games it is quite an achievment! And I believe he is the first Tour winner to win an Olympic gold in the same year.
First badminton, then track cycling... couldn't quite believe my ears when the German member of the British sprint team seemed to say he'd crashed deliberately.

On R4 this morning a cycling hack was reassuring everyone this is completely within the rules. Funny old game...
