Fancy a ride to the Seaside?
0900 at Pete's Bench (the roundabout with the funny florist thingy at the town end of Stockton Lane).

.... have been persuaded to make the start time 0830. Same rendez-vous. Destination, hopefully, Scarborough.

Midweek Roundup
What a ride! Nigel could only be out for a few hours which just left me and Heather to tackle a classic route. Out via Dalby, Hackness. Big breakers at the sea side with spray coming over onto Marine Drive. Nice cafe. Then back via Raincliffe Woods, Sherburn and a traverse of the Wolds. Nagging NW wind all day felt like it never gave us a hand. 106 miles with lots of hills and even the flatter lanes were somewhat agricultural. 16mph for the out-of-cafe section ( ) and even the great Heather was "in bits" for the last 10 miles. (I'd been suffering since Sherburn). We were so battered that a rotund gentleman on a big Dutch bike with panniers dropped us on Stockton Lane. He saw us coming in his wing mirrors (yes, he had a huge pair like a 1960s moped  ) and just rode away. I started laughing, but stopped when I found out how much laughing hurt..... Yep, we got our money's worth on Wednesday.
