New Year Weekend Roundup

Post by Jon G »

9 in the square for a social ride to Helmsley on Saturday. Ian and Bernard branched off early, the rest of us had an early stop at the ice cream parlour. Slightly improvised route I think as there was no Kevin and nobody else had a map. I don't think any of us would have got lost but when your not confident on a route its hard to convince the rest of the group. I certainly don't know the minor roads well enough but I am used to following like a lost sheep  Not my longest ride of 2011 but just what is needed at this time of the year I think. Thanks for company everyone and hope you all have had a Happy new year.

Just me and AndyG out for the clubrun today. A wet and slightly windy 65 miles around a classic route to Helmesley. At least it was mild and the roads were quiet. We didn't see a single other cyclist and returned feeling rather virtuous and with plenty of time in hand to catch up on some bike maintenance. As Skymoos said the other week - more miles in the bank to draw on in the summer...

Happy NY to all - here's to loads of cycling adventure in 2012!
