Weekend Round up - Bank Holiday w/e 28th - 30th May

C2C with my 13-year-old son for me this weekend. I used it as a recce for the day-ride in 3 weeks time.

We were so lucky with the weather, the forecast was awful but we seemed to time our cafe stops perfectly and missed the bulk of the downpours - including the hailstones on the top of Hartside!

For the road bike run in 3 weeks, I learned that the bulk of the standard route will be fine, but the last 40 miles from Parkhead (the start of the Waskerley Way) to Sunderland, will need some major modifications! Any suggestions?

I also learned that skinny thirteen year olds should not be challenged to races up hills, particulalry when I am carrying their luggage as well as my own. I got a serious kicking!!

I am really struggling to get out with the club at the moment through an accident of circumstance and work - I am missing you all, particularly the K-ride cafe stops.
