With the internet its very easy now a days to find great deals. In the past I've often found local bike shops uncompetitive, which is a shame as I'd much prefer to support them.

But finally I have found a bike shop in York that is as competive as the internet.... York Cycle Works.

I've just bought a new Cervelo and they matched any price I could find on the internet. Sam was great, unlike many LBS he doesn't discount off RRP, but calculates a price based on a minimum margin he needs to make. This give you a much better deal.

Plus of course you can see what you are getting, discuss your requirements and you get all the LBS help, assistance, after sales support and reassurance!

I'm not normally one for recommending shops etc but I was so impressed by the competitiveness and service from York Cycle works I thought i would spread the word so others could benefit!

So if you are looking for a new bike have a chat to Sam at York Cycle Works and see if he can match any price you have seen elsewhere. If your experience is like mine you won't be disappointed.

Happy shopping!

Those are low prices, don't think I'd risk ordering from Thailand though. They look too cheap like it's a scam.

Can't see why they'd want to, unless they want to go bust. Local shops provide service, support local events, work with customers long-term, and deal with problems and warranty issues. Not sure what the policies are of other manufacturers but Cervelo realise this and will only sell via local dealers.

I need to buy a new bike.

What's the betting that the insurers give me money in time for the summer?
