Post by AndyM »

Hey guys and girls,

Is anyone in the club planning on entering The Fred Whitton Challenge in May?

It's the same weekend as the Wiggy 1/300, which is a bit of a shame.

I might do the Wigginton, if I'm not working, I understand £40 for a sportive is not unusual, but it's too much for me.

I shall be posting an entry tomorrow, don't know I'll get a ride though at this late stage. If I do I think I'll stick a bigger sprocket on the back, it would be nice to get over Hardknott without a walk this time.

Received a "Dear Darren" Letter from the Fred today, Mrs Whitton left my entry in the lottery barrel, so I didn't make the cut. :(

Only chance is for me to pull off an amazing sponsorship deal or to blag a press pass.

So in the words of Dragon's Den, "I'm out."

:(

Yes me too, a few Clifton riders got in though. Perhaps if any of you have cold feet nearer the time, you could keep me in mind to take your place.
