Been away and returned to find quite a few emails
Absolutely fine to enter still
I could probably get a route and details out by 1st class if people get entries in ASAP
Alternatively just send in form and one SAE to return brevet card
Details / route available for download here
http://www.cliftoncc.org/challen/audax/tanhill
If you are unable to get an entry in and absolutely have to enter on the line.
Entries on the line ONLY if you bring along completed form, print off your own route and ideally provide an SAE to return brevet card!
Any questions i can be contacted on 01904 621550

Tan Hill 22nd August - UPDATE

That PGW2TD ride had something like 3000+m of climbing apparently, and I'm sure the tan hill route is just as hilly as it :sMarkA wrote:And AAA (climbing) points have been upped
Now 1.75
Officially we are 1750m of climbing but i think this was based on the mid section from days when only this part qualified
See what the Garmins produce Sunday!
Either way, compared to last year, my ride for Tan Hill and PGW2TD where both around the 10,000ft+ mark. Although oddly enough this year the PGW2YD was only around 8900 despite being the same route.
Yes looking at auk calendar page it does sayOfficially we are 1750m of climbing but i think this was based on the mid section from days when only this part qualified
So get your climbing boots on2325m [1751m for AAA]
PS Anyone looking for link to entry form its here

According to AUK rules, a 200km ride requires more climbing than the Tan Hill has in order to qualify for AAA (Audax Altitude Award a.k.a. climbing points), I think the figure is 2500m. However, a 100km section of the ride can qualify for points by itself, the lower limit being 1500m climbing. Our steep middle section has this, so we get the points for that and ignore the flat bits at either end.

It should certainly make a nice change from the flatness and headwinds of York-Cambridge-York last weekend, as long as my knees have recovered by then!

Very nice day out that, on my way home I decided to add some more miles in to beat my longest distance of 175 on the PGW2TD, so did 181 miles today.

Well anything over 140 miles is nuts really :p But I love eating miles just as much as I love eating food :pkl wrote:Rats - I thought I was "excessive" with 167m.willhub wrote:Very nice day out that, on my way home I decided to add some more miles in to beat my longest distance of 175 on the PGW2TD, so did 181 miles today.
