Broomwagon may have more local info, but the Elvington-Sutton bridge was usable on Sunday. Signs on the approach still show the road as closed, and at the bridge there is a timetable of restricted 'school run' pedestrian openings, but mid-morning there was nobody about and it was easy to cycle through the barrier, pick my way round some works clobber and get to the far side without dismounting, or risking anyone's life or limb. There were about 100m of unmade road on the Sutton side to cover as well.
I suspect you wouldn't get away with it in the week, but the whole job is meant to be finished in a few weeks anyway.
