Things I've forgotten to take to an event.....

Reading BW's post about forgetting his shoes, how about a thread about similar stories?

I too forgot my shoes going to a "10" up on Teeside somewhere ca. 1991. After a 50 mile drive it was such a nice evening that I decided to ride anyway in trainers on Look pedals. Scary thing was that it seemed to have a minimal impact and my time wasn't much short of what I'd have expected. Wouldn't try this in a RR though!!

Chaz Hollosi (Muzzy'll remember him, famous for eating raw garlic sandwiches in the car on the way to the start....) forgot his front wheel once!

Claire was once on the start line of a X-country race in her Rowntrees AC days, when her team mate Christine, exclaimed loudly then whispered "I forgot to shave the other leg, the phone rang half way through"....

Went to a football match in Morely once - we were all up for it (think it was a cup game and we figured we had a good chance). All sat in the changing room when someone said..."Who's got the kit then?"

We lost. I think playing in jeans and t-shirts gave the other team a definite psychological advantage....

*Nearly* left my shoes behind when rushing to a tuesday TLI race. Got the car onto the road, suddenly thought "which shoes am I wearing?", sprinted back into house...
That makes me twitchy so now every time I set off with the bike in the back I find myself reaching down behind the seat to check my shoes are in the passenger footwell.

I *have* done the front wheel thing though. Had a chance to fit a training ride in round the kid's visit to a sports camp. Put bike in back of car, grabbed kids, drove to sports camp, signed kids in, got back to car, got my kit on, realised I'd left the front wheel leaning against our garage wall in my hurry to get the car packed.
