Early notice for next week inviting riders to turn up for a post xmas, no cafe stop, 100k ride.
This is an invite to everyone and it will be a very steady calorie burning, head clearing, chat to your neighbour pace.
Leaving the square at 10am the route is based on the reliability ride but finnishes in the square not Stamford Bridge.

Looking forward to tomorrow morning, especially as we saw Father Christmas today, so I hope everyone has a good day.
Sunday
If you are thinking about coming would you please check this thread at 8am to check if the ride is still on.
At the moment my worry is about the conditions on the roads, especially as many of the minor ones may not get treated and it is assumed that there will be a lot of traffic. I do not want to have to use the B road to Helmsley(or equivalent) in busy traffic. I have done so before in poor weather and it is not at all enjoyable. If anyone has any alternate route suggestions please let me know as I don't get much futher than Acaster Malbis most days and that road has only just re-opened after the heavy rain we had.

Agreed, it was good just to be out.
Incidentally - given that 'if you can't beat 'em, join 'em', I submit the following:

A good blow out after the pud; I noticed that you didn't continue beyond Clifford was this because of the road closure signs for Bramham ? If it was then it would have been alright to continue has I did but it meant a short walk up Windmill hill where the lack of traffic had prevented the snow from melting etc. But beyond Bramhan the roads were clear again & I did a loop round Stutton to miss the ride along the old A64 into Tadcaster; after this I then took the long route home via Bolton Percy & Appleton so I think that my mileage would have been in the upper 50's & ride time 3.40. Unfortunately my computer wasn't recording so I couldn't be precise,
Happy New year everybody
