This message is strictly for those who see value in on-road cycle lanes and for those who are bothered about potholes.
Richard Holland (Deputy Programme Manager - Cycling City York) has a budget for rapid action on cycle lane lines (widening and 'refreshing) and repairing potholes, and seeks information on where to take action.
Already cycle lane widening along Bootham, Tadcaster Road and The Mount are in the programme, but others will be considered where road space permits.
Information on locations should be as precise as possible (no problem for Garmin nerds, for others give distance from junctions, house numbers etc).
You may send your requests to me: willyh@phonecoop.coop, or direct to: richard.holland@york.gov.uk.
Apart from potholes in many areas broken road surfaces are a problem, and dropped gulley gratings too. Look at conditions from the point of experience of 'ordinary cyclists', who do not follow the wheel of someone waving hand signals to indicate hazards as is the Clifton Health and Safety procedure!
