What a good day to leave York behind!

While York seemed to have had incessant torrential rains those on the Ron Kit rides on the Moors got away with just a few light sprinklings of precipitation and some fine boisterous skies.

Don't know haw the Danbydale group got on, but the small group of 100k Cliftonites made it to the cafe when the spread of cakes had hardly been touched, but that soon changed!

Ex-EasyRider Alison acquitted herself excellently on Scott powering up the climbs as if they did not existed, well, this is a only small exaggeration. So from modest beginnings great things can follow.

Well I did the Ron Kit, and it was absolutely peeing it down on the top of the moors!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, I was abit gutted to have not done rosedale chimney as I was advised it would be too dangerous in the wet and with cars coming down.

Lots of climbing, some where tough, some where fun, some good decents, wind was strong at some times and I got really soaked.

I'm all tired now from getting up at 6am.

Agreed Will, we did get a bit of a soaking - but still had better of it than York.
As Will says we had a good ride round - what he didn't say was that he was going like a train - leaving the rest of us floundering in his wake!

Yes, a fantastic display by Mr Hub; he ripped my legs off on every climb (just check out my max hr!) and then left me for dust.... Chapeau Will!

The 150km Ron Kit ride for me too this weekend. the first long/hard ride since May 9th. Good to get back into it. Felt strong much of the way round but not upto Howard/Will standards. I can start too look forward to the Etape now which was doubtful a month ago. I am down to do the White Rose Challenge this coming W/E but may not be able to make it.

I was good to see a strong contingent of Clifton Riders out on Saturday and it was even better that evrybody more or less stuck together it just makes the whole thing much more pleasant and that bit easier. The miles just go quicker. Should be out again on a Saturday sometime soon it may be after my Etape exploits as I am also going to York races on the 11th July.

Ron Kit ride very enjoyable and its wonderful what one can do in a crowd. Thanks to Steve who navigated all the turns to keep a large group of cliftonites and assorted others on course, and for guiding us home as the legs faded .
Kevin, if you are reading, I managed 100.1 miles for the day including to the start and back home.
I watched the road, anticipated the idiots, respected the horses, didn't brake or wander across the road and kept pedalling.... but I still enjoyed the scenery.

Just to add that I also thoroughly enjoyed myself on Saturday. It was both my first proper long ride and my first group ride in years.

Really appreciated the sociable nature of the return leg which I guess was something to do with the amazing and interesting navigation on the way out - how many roads are there in Farndale?

Quite surprised myself with my fitness, but the ease at which I sped past everyone on the downhills demonstrates that I may have some excess baggage yet to shed.

Well having seen how all the faster guys had some rain, this may suggest that it might be better to hang back with me in the future, as whilst I could see the rain ahead of me on several occasions I did not get o spot of rain until I was putting the bike into the garage at home. Although there was plenty of water around on the roads especially at Rosedale, although i did wonder if it was down to the Dolly Parton style of singing that I heard on passing through the flood.
But seriously well done to everybody who managed to achieve their goal of completing this ride around some of the best countryside in the Uk,
