There's a bloke who can disguise his irony better than I can... How on earth did you get the saddle an inch high in the first place, Will? You've got the Bikefit measurements to work with....
I've found it's best just not to bother. As I get older I find that I'm better employed using my declining number of neurons to solve problems that are amenable to reasoned method...

With a number of riders elsewhere there were two rides from the square on Saturday morning. I accompanied Bernard and several others up to Malton and across the back lanes to Helmsey from lunch. Welcome sunshine and good company made for a great ride.

My good lady wife took me to Rome at the weekend for my 40th, to watch the end of the Giro, and I came face to face with a Killer....

A fantastic days viewing, especially the drama at the very end.

That's a pretty excellent birthday pressie!

Wait a mo.. ..he's on a TT bike, and he rode the final stage on a road bike - last-minute change when it rained? (I was watching it on Eurosport player on the net and nearly shot through the ceiling into the kitchen when Menchov fell off - I'd imagine the excitable Italians by the roadside must have been even more animated!)

He rode the course after the 10th/11th rider, on his tt bike, as a practice run. He must have decided it wasn't suitable and switched to his road bike.

I was stood near the finish watching Menchov's run in on the tv inside the quickstep car, I've not known anything like it when he came off.

His mechanic must be as cool as a cucumber.

And fit! He ran about 400yds pushing Menchov when he couldn't clip in - I half expected him to still be there when he crossed the line!

On saturday I'm cycling to leyland near preston to this place called paul hewitt apparently it's got a very good reputation and people come from far and wide to get fitted at this place, so I'm going to get fitted there.

I'd have gone today but it appears 3x 80 miles rides uber hilly with one day rest in between has resulted in over training.

Excellent Will - just make sure that you keep a record of the fit so that you can make sure that all your bikes are adjusted the same. Then don't mess with things any more!
